Complaint Free Zone

Are you ready to make a commitment to live your life complaint free?  If you are, then get ready because your life will change and it will change quickly.  As you stop complaining about the things you don’t want in your life, guess what?  They stop showing up and now the things that you are focusing on, which are positive begin to manifest.

The transformation that occurs once you commit to living life complaint free is amazing!  Personally, once I promised myself that I would stop complaining and focus my thoughts and feelings on living my life nurturing the positives, the blessings in my life, I connected at an even deeper level with my source, and I feel physically, emotionally and spiritually great!

As you begin on your new journey of living complaint free, staying aware of your feelings and thoughts is essential.  You’ve probably seen the following breakdown of the word “think.”  I memorized this concept and it helped me to NOT speak if what I was about to say didn’t answer yes to the following:

T     – Is is TRUE?

H     – Is it HELPFUL?

I     – Is it INSPIRING?

N     – Is it NECESSARY?

K     – Is it KIND?

You will discover you are much happier as a result of living complaint free.  A few years ago Will Bowen created a non-profit organization called, “A Complaint Free World.”  I came across his organization through Facebook.  I immediately “liked” the page and you may want to as well.  Find out more about Will Bowen as he recently published an awesome book titled, “Happy This Year.”

Living complaint free is an intrical component to living your life with genuine inner peace and happiness.  Start today, and let’s share with each other how making this shift has brought more joy into your world.

With much love,

Alice

Keeping Life Simple

The title of this post seems easy enough to do, so why don’t we keep life simple?  I believe it’s because we want to be in control of every miniscule detail that is going on in our lives, and when we live from the place of control, this is where stress, anxiety and frustration are found.  This keeps life anything but simple.

Remember the book titled, “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff, and It’s All Small Stuff?”  What a great book!  You may want to read or re-read this book as it offers great ideas on how to keep the little things from taking over your life.

How do we get back to keeping our life simple?  The first step is to “let go” and “let it be.”  We must retrain our mindset to stop trying to figure out the hows, the whys and the whens in our life.  In other words, RELAX.  Take a deep breath in and as you slowly exhale, think on the really great things that are in your life today, right now.  Take a moment and enjoy the abundance of blessings that surround you.  This grants you the opportunity to welcome the beauty that is in your life as you transition your thoughts to a place of gratitude, thus shifting your way of thinking back to a less complicated, simpler life.

I love the children’s books by Dr. Seuss because his books were written with a message to every one regardless of age.  He shared with us how to keep life simple.  Here are just a few quotes that are in his books.

“Don’t cry because it’s over.  Smile because it happened.”

“If things start happening, don’t worry, don’t stew, just go right along and you’ll start happening too.”

“Only you can control your future.”

“Today is your day, your mountain is waiting.  So get on your way.”

Each of these quotes suggests that we have the choice to not get caught up in “stuff” that happens in our lives, but to let it be, go with the flow and this allows you and I to live life with an ebb and flow instead of the highs and lows.

I’ve lived my life from both places, and once I connected to the gentleness of the ebb and flow, this is when my world was transformed to living a simpler life once again.  I genuinely let go of the control that I once felt was needed in my life and that is when I got my life back!  It’s all about the choices we make in our lives.  Let the choices you make translate to keeping life simple.

With much love,

Alice

Fetes de Plants (French for Festival of Plants)

photo(213)

This past weekend the small village we live in had their annual “Fetes de Plants.”  This is a grand event that many people in our village and the surrounding villages look forward to.  Well, with my love for plants, I too was excited to participate in this festival as well.

photo(214)

Bagnoles de l’Orne, France is a small village of approximately 2,500 people.  Since it is a tourist town, there are always a lot of activities going on during the tourist season.  The “Fetes de Plants” took place on Saturday and Sunday.  It truly warmed my heart to see a lot of families taking pleasure in the beautiful day while choosing plants for their home.

I went to the festival primarily to check it out and of course with the possibility of finding a plant to bring home.  It was fun watching as lots of people delighted in the beautiful flowers, trees and plants that were for sale.  There were also darling little angels, frogs, lambs and turtles on display as yard decor available to purchase.  As we were walking around, we came upon some beautiful roses.  Oh my goodness they were very pretty.  I found myself kneeling down so I could smell them.  They were wonderful.

photo(216)

As you can see, this is the plant that I took home with me!  It was a really fun and enjoyable afternoon.  I am grateful to live in this marvelous little town and to be living my dream in France.  I placed the rose bush where we could enjoy it from the dining area.  I sat down and just stared at my new roses.  While I sat there, I remembered the expression, “Take time to smell the roses.”

I genuinely hope that you and I will always take time to savor moments in our day, to slow down the pace in our lives and appreciate the small things that can give us great joy and pleasure, such as smelling a rose.

With much love,

Alice

Wilma Rudolph

ck wilma

In the 1960’s, Wilma Rudolph was considered the fastest woman in the world.  She also was a civil rights and women’s rights pioneer.  Here is what she said:  “Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit.  We are all the same in this notion:  The potential for greatness lives within each one of us.”

It was at the 1960 Summer Olympics held in Rome, where Wilma Rudolph won three gold medals in track and field during a single Olympic Games.  She was the first woman to achieve this title.  Under Wilma Rudolph’s influence, track and field became a major presence in the United States.

Wilma Rudolph continues to inspire many today.  I believe she lived her life full of passion, sharing her greatness with the world.

Let’s live our life with great passion, sharing our gifts with the world.

With much love,

Alice

Your Birthright

Do you realize the endowment that has been given to you at birth?  This endowment that you’ve received is your birthright.

We were created in God’s image as stated in Genesis 1:27.  I believe the intention of this statement being made in the beginning is to immediately reveal to each one of us where we came from and who we are a part of.  This verse tells us that we ALL were created in God’s image.

You and I have within us everything needed to create the life that we desire.  When we expand and develop every part that is within us, we live our life with great passion and purpose.  A life designed just for you.

What this means is when you place your intention on cultivating the gifts that are inside of you, you are connected to the God within and you are living in harmony with your source.  You know it because you feel it, you feel calm and you are at peace.  Yes, it really is our birthright.

The endowment that you have received is the inherent power of God.  This presence is always with you.  Grow and expand this gift as you plug into the life that has been created just for you.  Talk about the ultimate hookup!

It’s my belief that the way life is lived for the vast majority of people today was never God’s plan for us.  The blueprint was laid out in such a way that we are to have an abundant filled life in every area of life.

It’s not God that changed the plan, it was us.  We are given the opportunity to make choices, and those choices create the reality in our life.  The good news is it is never too late to change the path you may be on.

Embrace the legacy that is yours… Claim it.  Acknowledge that you have absolutely everything within you to create the life of your dreams.  You really do!  You are enough!  Shifts your “I can’ts” to “I can” and to “I am.”  This change in how you see yourself will manifest wonderful transformations in your life.

“We fear to know the fearsome and unsavory aspects of ourselves, but we fear even more to know the godlike in ourselves.”  Abraham Maslow

Springtime

photo(163)

I really enjoy springtime.  As the trees begin to bud and the beautiful flowers begin to bloom, it’s a gentle reminder that every new season brings about change and renewal.  And not to rush through life, but to savor the moments we have been given.  To live in the present and be here now.

We should welcome change into our lives, allowing as nature does.  Giving ourselves permission to blossom, enjoying life to the fullest.  These quotes come to mind when I think about nature and allowing.

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”  ~Lao Tzu

“People deal too much with the negative, with what is wrong.  Why not try and see positive things, to just touch those things and make them bloom.”  ~Nhat Hanh

“Flowers don’t worry about how they’re going to bloom.  They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful.”  ~Jim Carrey

With spring in full bloom everywhere you look, take time to stop and smell the flowers as you walk along life’s pathway, embracing changes as they happen with gentleness the way nature does.

With much love,

Alice

When Shift Happens

Shift happens doesn’t it?  Shift is another word I often use to describe “change.”  Upon graduating from high school in 1979, a friend of mine shared this statement with me.  “The only consistent thing in life is change.”  At 18 years of age I had NO idea how true this would be.

Life is all about shifting, changing and evolving in every aspect of life.  As we change/ shift our thoughts and our mental vision, we alter our reality.  Thought is energy and thoughts change the balance of energy around us and that promotes shifts in our life.

When I made a shift in my personal life to stop trying to be in control of every situation in my world, including my loved ones, I made my connection to inner peace.  This change not only shifted my world, it rocked my world!

As a result of this shift that was a spiritual awakening for me, my only desire is to live in harmony with my source, which allows shifts when they occur to be smooth on my journey through life.

Words and thoughts are extremely powerful because this is what the universe hears.  What you speak and what you think is what you receive.  Make sure that what you are speaking and thinking is what you want.  If not, you must short circuit the thought shifting your mindset to get back into a positive vibrational state of being.

One cannot focus on unwanted and receive wanted.  You must shift your thoughts to what you DO want.  The universe is always changing and it is not stagnant which is great news for us.  A shift, a change of feeling, will bring with certainty a change in your future.  This is the first step in changing your destiny.

When shift happens in your life, may you embrace it with a gentle ebb and flow as your journey will be an ongoing of shifts as you continue to progress on the road of life.  I’ll leave you with a cute quote.  “Life is like a roller coaster.  It has its ups and downs…but it’s your choice to either scream or enjoy the ride.”

With much love,

Alice

Imagine That!

The imagination is everything!  When you live from your imagination, your soul and your spirit are free and that is why you connect so deeply to your creator.  Your soul cannot connect to God at the level it craves when confined.  You must find yourself connected to this place in your imagination in order to live your life from the blueprint that was designed just for YOU!  This is where it all happens.

I remember as a child using my imagination all the time.  I was very connected to that place in my childhood.  I also recall feeling very alive, very much at peace from within.

We use the imagination, just not the way it was designed.  As a result of some of our life events, we find ourselves focused more on the negatives in life, rather than the positives.  Our dreams tend to get pushed aside and what we are planting in the imagination is more of what we don’t want.

Whatever you place into your imagination and keep as a thought, will eventually become your reality.  Our imagination is a place where we should devote a lot of time cultivating what we truly desire, as this is a sacred place where we are the most connected to our source.

I am convinced that our imagination is where everything begins.  It starts first as a thought, a dream, and then you get to see it evolve into reality.  Whether it is a positive or a negative thought that we plant in our imagination, this is what will grow.

Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is everything.  It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”

An awakened imagination works with a purpose.  It creates and conserves the desirable, and transforms or destroys the undesirable.”  Neville Goddard

May you reconnect with your imagination and live your dream.

Alice

Visit to the Natural History Museum in London

The Natural History Museum is currently hosting their “Sensational Butterfly” exhibit.  This exhibition is held on the front lawn of the museum.  With my appreciation of butterflies, last month my husband and I experienced the exhibit and we both had a lot of fun.  In my post last week I shared how much I LOVE BUTTERFLIES so I was one happy woman!
