Alice, no wonder we are friends. Your story, especially childhood, is also mine. The culture shock of moving from L.A. and my “hacking my education” “I can DO THAT!!” mentality, into the “traditional education system” of brain drain of socially fitting in as a Oklahoma teen in the early 70’s created more roadblocks than I had ever been aware of. Add to that my parents temporary financial set-backs during my youth that instilled financial fears and bad habits into me that I’ve only now accepted. I LOVE you and I love your blog.
