I saw this halo around the sun the other day and just had to capture the moment. This glorious and vibrant portrait in the sky was a lovely reminder from above that all is well and you are here for a reason.
I woke up this morning with a memory of how divinely protected my husband and I had been in a specific occurrence that took place 5 years ago.
We were coming home one Friday evening from our office where we worked together. On the way home we had decided that we would have grilled steaks for dinner. We pulled into the driveway and hit the button to open the garage door, got out of the car, went inside, turned on the kitchen light, and proceeded to start preparations for dinner.
Meanwhile, Gary went outside to get the charcoal grill ready. Just before Gary started the grill, he heard something in the backyard. He began to investigate and what he found was a natural gas leak that was spewing up out of the ground not ten yards away!
He immediately came inside and asked me to call the gas company and report this at once. Started by what I’d just heard, it didn’t occur to me that maybe I should step outside to make the call. I stayed inside my house, and made the call from my cell phone.
I’ve read stories of how homes explode often times when there is a gas leak. The slightest gesture like hitting the button to open the garage door, turning on the light inside, and making a phone call from my cell phone inside the house could have had disastrous results.
However, not one thing happened to us that was life threatening. We were blessed with a miracle, a big time miracle!!! I haven’t actually thought about this for a long time, and in sharing this with you now, I am honestly filled with many emotions and a bit shaky…but most of all I am very thankful and grateful for the gift we were given- another day of life!
Each day is truly a gift and in remembering this life event, God has once again reminded me that Gary and I have a divine purpose to fulfill and this is one of the reasons I believe we are still here.
The beauty on this journey through life is that each day you have the choice to embrace life to the fullest, living in the moment, sharing a smile with another person, making a difference in someone’s life as well as your own.
Wishing you a day filled with much joy, smiles, laughter, and love.
With much love,
Alice
