Do you remember the mood rings that were very popular in the 70’s? Oh, I had one and always wanted it to be blue, because blue meant I was “happy.” When I came across this picture, I saw the words on the box that said, “Unlock Your True Emotions!”
Seeing this picture and reading those words was a fun reminder that even back then, I longed to be happy. I think we all did. I don’t recall anyone wanting their ring to be black, because that represented the opposite of being happy. It’s funny to think that we wore those rings showing everyone what our “mood” supposedly was at that moment. We showed our feelings outwardly with these rings. We were unlocking our true emotions and sharing how we felt with the world.
Truth is, your mood does determine how you feel; and how you feel effects every aspect of your life. Winston Churchill said, “The mood decides the fortunes of people rather than the fortunes decides the mood.”
Once again, this reminds you and I that happiness is an inside job. I believe it’s very important as you move forward on your spiritual journey to remember that no one can make you happy… only YOU can do that. It’s always your choice to make.
Sometimes, our pride, aka- ego, steps in and chooses not to be happy, and you know it right away because you feel terrible. How can you shift back to feeling happy again, aligned with the divine?
What always works for me, in adjusting my attitude, is to begin to thank my source for all the good, the blessings that are in my life, right now. I start offering prayers of thanksgiving… Thank you that I am well, I am whole, I am loved, I am enough, I am worthy, I am joyful, I am abundant, I am prosperous, I am strong… (I end my prayers of gratitude with, “I am that, I am.”)
I continue prayers of thanksgiving until I feel that I have moved away from the ego mindset and feel the shift back to living from my highest self. When I am saying these prayers of thanksgiving, I say them slowly and with great feeling and belief, and that passion from within is what moves me back into alignment with my source for everything. I love when I feel this shift occur because my energy level also moves back to a high vibrational state.
I love this quote by Gandhi: “Each one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside circumstances.”
Life always gives you choices…. The key is to decide which choice you will make, and will that choice honor your highest self or your ego self? Unlocking your true emotions in my opinion is living life seeing through the eyes of God, which is looking outward with great compassion and love.
Start today if you haven’t already done so, and unlock your true emotions and live your life choosing to be happy, connecting to the divine, living from your true “blue” self. Blue signifies the celestial love of truth…. Live your truth.
With much love,
Alice
