Are You Looking Back?

If you answered yes to this question, today is THE day to stop looking back.  “If you are depressed, you are living in the past.  If you are anxious, you are living in the future.  If you are at peace, you are living in the present.”  By Lao Tzu

What I’ve come to appreciate on my spiritual journey, is that the past does not define you.  The past is an integral component of the groundwork that is necessary to prepare you for the advancement of living from your highest self.

There was a time in my life, before my spiritual transformation, where I allowed the past to be very active in my thoughts.  This was extremely destructive in the progression of moving forward in life.  You want to move forward, but the past can, if you let it, have a strong hold over you.  I discovered I was living in fear, which does not promote living from your highest self.

Today, I genuinely am thankful, grateful for my past, because it has brought me to where I am today.  I love this quote by Oscar Wilde: “The one charm of the past is that it is the past.”

Today is your day to begin living in the present.  I encourage you to give yourself this beautiful “present,” the gift to let go of the past, and be in the present, in the here and now.

With much love,

Alice

About I am Alice

If anyone would have asked me three years ago if I had ever considered writing books, I would have promptly answered, "No." Today, it is a very natural feeling to write. I suppose since I enjoy talking so much, and I mean a lot, it should not have surprised me! I love communicating through writing as I feel completely united with my soul and my thoughts flow, often times as well as tears as I am altogether emerged in that feeling, in that moment. Check out the "About Alice" page to find out why I titled this site, "I am Alice" and why, "It Feels Good To Be ME."
